INTO THE SEA (Nazaré way to say it) is out.

“Contrary to what is said in the rest of the country, in Nazaré, it is not said that a vessel goes out to sea, but that it enters the sea”, explains André Almeida who directed and filmed this 3:40 clip.

In this expression it is clearly indicated that the sea is integrated into the Nazarene way of life and that it is not something that is separated, strange or even distant.

“Over hundreds of years, the sea has transformed: from an exclusive source of sustenance that it did not always provide, tragedy, song and joy for this people with sad eyes; It’s enough for a day to go by without seeing him and I’ll miss him right away.”
