The first day of competition of the Billabong Quemao Class left an impressive pack of images. As expected, the conditions have been improving even more throughout the day and the competitors have been able to make the most of them.
The day wraps up with the first classified for the semifinals in both divisions. In bodyboarding, the first semifinal will face the Fuerteventura athletes Octavio González, Aitor Ojeda, and Ruyman Rey, as well as Armides Soliveres from Gran Canaria.
The three times champion of the event, the Frenchman Amaury Lavernhe has returned to La Santa prepared to win again, getting the best wave with 9.50 points out of 10. “This is a spectacular event, to be able to compete in these conditions with the level that it is extraordinary”, said the former world champion.
Portuguese big wave man, Pedro Levi, lost on the first round to Moz and Canarians Aday Borges and Lucas Herrera, but said “It was an incredible experience and the local gang is absolutely amazing friendly. Thank you for inviting me for such an unique show”.
