Lots of action, glassy conditions, and sun were the main features of the competition at La Salie Pro 2023, which also revealed the women world pro junior champion.

After the first two days dedicated to trials, non-elimination rounds and first rounds of the draw, it was time to proceed with the last stage of the comp and determine the finalists of the French IBC event.

The atmosphere, the energy and the vibes during the weekend were surreal. It was not just about competition, La Salie Pro was a gathering of families, friends and bodyboarding enthusiasts, coming together to celebrate the sport they love.

On the men’s side, young Ethan Perez (Basque Country) beat Gadiel Ruano (Canary Islands) in the final: 16,05 x 6,40 points. In the semis, Ethan beat Louka Zaninotto (France) and Gadiel Beat Gabriel Mendoza (Canary Islands).

Jorge Hernandez from the Canary Islands is leading the Pro Junior Men’s Division, but please remember that for the final ranking points only counts the best result plus the Fronton King event. This means everything can still happen.

The ladies were on fire all days. A world title was on the line. In the end the winner was Aarya Tabalno, from Hawaii, with 11,65 points against the 10,60 points scores by Mar Suanzes (Canary Islands).

With this results, Tabalno is the first lady to conquer a world title to the Hawaiian archipelago and was the first bodyboarder ever to win all stops of the world tour (between men and women). What an amazing performance!

Brazilian Luna Hardman and Portuguese Luna Dourada lost in the semis, so placed equal third in the event. On the year’s final standings Luna Dourado is now officially the world vice champion, Hanna Saavedra (Peru) third, Luna Hardman fourth and Bianca Simões (Brazil) ended in fifth position. xxx
