The 2023 French Surfing Championships by Banque Populaire ended on Wednesday in Biarritz. Due to the impassable conditions caused by Storm Ciarán, the competition was cut in half. Thus, 22 titles were issued out of the 38 initially planned.

The region Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which had more than half of the workforce, alone won 50% of the national titles (11). But Brittany strikes a big blow on these “France” 2023 with 5 titles. The Bretons were imperial in bodyboarding and stand up paddle surfing while Reunion Island leaves the country without any victory, a first in 40 years of this emblematic contest. The Antilles are celebrating with 3 titles for Guadeloupe and 2 for Martinique.

In Dantean conditions (2 meters plus), on really hard conditions, Yann Salaun (top photo and above) won a 4th title of French champion in Bodyboard Open, in addition to signing, in the last series of these Championships and of the day, the only 10-point-ride of the competition!

Among the girls, Lisa Labadie, this time did not miss the opportunity to shine at home. In front of her family and friends, the local bodyboarder conquered a 3rd crown on her personal account.

In Dropknee, Morgan Le Quellec took advantage of the absence of quadruple French champion Martin Mouradian to win his first title!

Without further ado, here are the titles that remained to be revealed and that were cleared this Wednesday at La Grande Plage of Biarritz.
