The 8th edition of the event will be the th last Annaëlle Challenge.
Since 2009 the Annaëlle Challenge crew succeed to gather dozens of volunteers for a special goal: organize an international boogie contest, broadcasted live, on a little isolated island off Brittany’s (France) coast.
“Taking good care through the years of such a difficult event requires a lot of energy, so we made the choice to be able to stop this journey while we still have the capabilities to run it the best way!”, said the organizer.
That said the 2023 Pride bodyboards Annaëlle Challenge will see for the last time the best french and international riders together to face the infamous Breton slab.
The format will stay the same, a Specialty Event on the IBC World Tour composed of two days of contest, 16 riders invited, 2 non-elimination rounds to decide the 4 finalists.
The waiting period will be from Sunday 5th November to Thursday 21st December, after the Fronton King, the last IBC event in Gran Canaria.
According to the organization, “The Annaëlle Challenge will stay as the major bodyboarding event in France over the last two decades, a stunning contest format, a wild wave in a very special environment. Like many competitors said, it’s more than a contest, it’s an adventure!”

For now, until the waiting period starts, just cross your fingers hoping for good waves. Whatever happens, this story will have an end, so if it’s not in 2023, the pirates will be back in 2024! xxx
