Local boys Martin Artavia and Marlon Sandoval stood out for the crowd with great performances, placing third and fourth, respectively.

But Sammy did great in the Dropknee division and got away with the victory. The Hawaiian shredder beat Chilean Michel Copetta with 9,24 pts versus 7,06 pts. Costa Ricans Jeffrey Gomes and William Fallas placed third and fourth, respectively.

Amongst the Ladies, Veronica Correa (Panama) overcame Anais Mendoza (Puerto Rico) in the final heat by scoring 9,57 points against 4,56 pts, and lifted the winner trophy.

“Super happy to win the Tumbos Pro, the first ever international bodyboarding event in the country. The culture of the sport here is really strong. It was amazing to see the national athletes shredding and I believe this is just the beginning! Congratulations to all the organizers and the competitors, very proud to be doing this sport and contribute to its growth if I can, wherever bodyboarding takes me”, wrote PLC later on his Instagram account. xxx
