Not just fun and epic waves at The Beast aka El Frontón. Heavy news for the Canarian family this holidays and Christmas season as Julián Gonzalez passed away a few days ago while bodyboarding at Frontón.
This is really sad news, but also a wake up call when riding extreme waves. Julián was a brave and respected 29 years old bodyboarder that compete on the Frontón King.
Details say he got knocked unconscious after a wipe out and subsequently drowned. His peers in the water at the time tried to resuscitate him but with no success. He was later declared dead (in the hospital).
“I have no words. Right now I just feel pain… Rest in peace Julián. Keep surfing great waves wherever you are! We love you very much and your smile will always be by our side!”, wrote 2x world champ Alexandra Rinder on the Instagram.
Rest in peace, Julián.
