The production of the Multifacetada movie of the Pride Bodyboards team was epic and at the same a timeless journey for everybody, including the international well known stars Pierre-Louis Costes, Tristan Roberts and Isabela Sousa. On the other hand, for Pedrim (Pedro Correia), a local legend who is a part of the Pride team, to be able to show the gang his magical island was not only a pleasure but also a dream.

“To be involved in a movie like Multifacetada was a dream come true. Living in a small place like Azores and to be able to share the place where I grew up and learn bodyboarding with these legends was great”, starts by saying the local advisor Pedrim, adding “These riders have travelled half the world and to see the enthusiasm in their eyes is a feeling of mission accomplished and a great personal proud.”
PLC had been in Azores and on São Miguel Island before, so he kinda knew what to expect – especially the four seasons climate you can have in one day. However, he sure was surprised by Pedrim and his friend Rodrigo Rijo high level of riding showcase.
“Personally I just love the Azores on a personal touch. It’s one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!” – Pierre-Louis Costes
“They were riding like mad men! They were matching the top riders! The moves they’ve done and the commitment was amazing, and the style of course. Those guys were definitely influenced by the Aussie generation and they managed to mix it with explosiveness!”, attests the Frenchman.
For the 2x world champ Tristan Roberts the trip was incredible and one for the books: “I knew that wedge gets good, but I had no idea it would get that good! Was a real big surprise to see what quality waves this little piece of heaven can produce. The scenery is unreal, the beauty of the island is raw and so incredible to see.”
Isabela Sousa, who has been dominating the women’s bodyboarding for such a long time, had already flown to Terceira island a few years ago, for an IBA contest, and although she didn’t have seen many waves on that occasion the true is was enough to give her an idea of the region’s waves potential.
“A good surprise on the trip was the triangle peak. We had a few epic days in there with awesome ramps and an absurd level from every rider in the water” – Isabela Sousa
Many years later, a new opportunity to travel with the Pride team to São Miguel knocked on her door. This time a complete new island that fulfilled her heart and left her in love. “On the first day I was enchanted by the landscape and with the local’s friendly/warm welcoming”, she said.
So now, everytime the 5x world champ watches Multifacetada, a good memory takes place. To Isabela it reminds what’s bodyboarding all about: “Sharing waves with friends, pushing yourself as hard as you can and at the end of the day having a smile that won’t fit on your face.”
