Entirely filmed around Australia, The Greyhound is the new online bang from Australian shredder Cohen Thomas. Edited by the man himself, this is a work that has a little bit of everything: barrels, slabs, bigger waves, airs, ramps, steppy waves… and even good music.

Between surfs, we may say we’re able and lucky enough to get to chat with Cohen Thomas about the whole clip, production, and, of course, future expectations not just in terms of video releases.

Let’s start by reading Cohen’s opinion regarding the best way to sum the clip:

“The clip was filmed across Australia throughout 2024, featuring locations in Western Australia, Tasmania, and the Desert. The waves are a mixed bag — everything from beachies, heavy slabs and punchy air bowls.”

Regarding the video title ‘Greyhound’, if you’ve been wonder,

“it comes from a long-standing nickname I picked up in Tasmania — probably thanks to my long frame (ha ha) and the way I’m always racing down the line looking for a ramp. It’s also the name of my new Pro Model with Pride Bodyboards, which has just been released in Australia.”

And what can we expect in terms of action, wave types and spots revisited?

“Lots of places revisited ha ha ha… Shipstern Bluff — a wave that really got me into bodyboarding when I was younger in Tassie.”

“There’s also a cool link-up with Tom Jennings at a pretty mysto WA beachie. I lived near that wave for five years while I was living over there. Some years it would only break properly once — or not at all. So getting a water link-up out there with Western Australia local film lord was nice.”

We had one final question to Cohen, regarding expectations, goals, and what really holds the future for him? His answer:

“I have a Europe clip finished and ready to upload to my Thomas Bros Youtube — so we can expect that to drop very soon as well. I am competing in the 2026 Shark Island Challenge again this Winter so that’s for sure one of my big focuses for me. I also am planning another trip with my brother Samuel but haven’t finalised a location just yet.”

That said, press play and watch ‘The Greyhound’.
