The final stop of the 2026 IBC Women’s World Tour hit prime time today at Praia do Solemar as a new women champion was crowned.
The IBC Women’s World Tour went down to the wire at the ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro 2026, the final and most critical women’s event of the season, currently underway at Praia do Solemar (Jacaraípe, Serra).
After a quick hold for better waves, organizers have officially called the event back ON for this Friday, putting the world’s best back to business in the water.
The race for the Pro Women’s World Title has turned into a high-stakes duel between Japan’s Namika Yamashita and Brazil’s own Luna Hardman.
Namika Yamashita, World No. 1 with 6,000 pts in the overall ranking, needed to win and advance her Round 6 heat, which she did, becoming world champion for the first time in the career.
After Ayaka Suzuki and Sari Ohhara, Namika has become the third Japanese bodyboarder to be crowned Bodyboarding World Champion.
Congrats!
