The Beast versus Miguel Coelho.
Miguel Coelho “Mini” is a common name in the Portuguese free surf daily routine. You see, long time ago, he decided to pursuit his passion of bodyboarding good waves, big and perfect sometimes, challenging and intense on other occasions. But always very rewarding on a personal point-of-view. The competition part was, somehow, forgotten, left behind.
Since then he charged slabs or hit ramps along the Portuguese coastline more frequently. We also released real inspiring cinematic edits and was involved in unforgettable trips like the last Summer strike to Watu Karung in Indonesia. Not surprising ended being invited to join the Pride Bodyboards team, one of the very few bodyboard brands in the global market that really care/love the sport.
Lately, the Portuguese coastline has been graced by different swells. Well, it’s been crazy cold the past weeks, freezing, but the waves have been amazing, beyond surprising. Footage from different sessions and locations may be seen in different renowned surfing media spread across the globe. Do a little search if you have a spare minute.

Take the example of this crazy air drop directly to a tea room registered a couple days ago. As many would say, a perfect moment from the bodyboarding world. The spot name says it all – The Beast. That day Miguel surfed with other regular bodyboard peers, like António Saraiva, Pedro Levi, Diogo Coutinho, pro surfers Arran Strong (paddle), and Nic von Rupp who was towing on the jets.
We don’t get to see this every day. Not any athlete has the skills nor the go for it need it to do something so intense like this. We mean, that’s real and honest commitment.
Congrats, Mini, and thank you for a truly inspiring moment! You made our day!
