Trigger Point follows António Saraiva, a Portuguese bodyboarder whose lifelong bond with Australia has shaped both his craft and his character.

António’s first visit to the country dates back to 1997 – check the exclusive interview HERE. A family trip that unknowingly planted the seed for a lifelong connection. Years later, in 2011, António returned. This time chasing swells, friendships, and the raw pulse of adventure that only the ocean can provide.

Since then, each Winter season has drawn him back to Australia’s wild coastline. A second home where moments of fear, freedom, and beauty collide. Through these journeys, António confronts the delicate balance between comfort and risk, familiarity and discovery

The film’s title, Trigger Point, reflects that crucial moment of pressure. The instant when a decision defines the path forward. It’s the point where he pushes beyond hesitation, both in the water and behind his 35mm film camera, a constant companion through his travels. The parallel is clear: whether pulling into a heaving wave or pressing the shutter, both acts demand instinct, timing, and surrender to the moment.

Blending striking cinematography and the visceral power of bodyboarding, Trigger Point is a visual exploration of passion, place, and the pursuit of meaning through movement.
