With the end of the 2024 Visit Maldives Pro, yesterday (read here), at Varunulaa Raalhugandu, Male City, the expectations grow regarding the World Tour updated rankings and their respective leaders. Meanwhile, the people at the International Bodyboarding Corporation are starting to unveil the maths.
On the Pro Women’s side, Brazilians Maíra Viana and Luna Hardman are still on top of the classification despite their early loss in the Maldives. Meanwhile, Japan’s pride Sari Ohhara jumped into third place and Namika Yamashita is now fourth. Maylla Venturin, from Brazil, who were third before Maldives, now closes the top 5.
One event left for the Women’s Division, and with 4 events counting for the World Title Race, this is the ranking situation according to the IBC. The title race for the ladies will be in Portugal, at the Sintra Pro Fest from 3-8 September.
Regarding the Pro Men’s, Armide Soliveres still in the lead of the world ranking now with 10473 points, Gabriel Braga (Brazil) follows the Spanish is second with 8876 points, Pierre-Louis Costes (France) jumped into third with 8626 points, Tristan Roberts (South Africa) is fourth with 8111 points, and Dave Hubbard (Hawaii) closes the top 5 with 7919 points.
Last but not the least, on the Men’s Pro Junior is Alexander Montes, also from the Canaries, who’s leading the charts with 5400 points. Chilean Mikelle Arriaga is now in second with 4940 points, followed by Micheel Yancce (Peru), in third, Guilherme Montenegro (Brazil), in fourth, and Esteban Godoy (Chile), in fifth place.
