Former world champion from South African is now living in Europe.

South African Iain Campbell, age 32, 2017 world champion, has moved to the United Kingdom with his wife, Rosie. The announcement was made on social media a couple weeks ago:

“Stoked to be getting some wedges here in the South West! We have moved down to Cornwall and are officially residents here… This move has been easily the hardest challenge of mine and Rose life together thus far. I am grateful for the opportunity but it is testing us big time.

Nobody could ever understand the hurdles you will face and the obstacles that arise from moving to another country unless you have done it. Having Rose by my side has been incredible but the transition has certainly had it’s ups and downs, laughs and tears!

Shoutout to everyone who has helped, motivated and inspired us to get to this point! We will talk a lot more about this soon but I am truly GRATEFUL for you all.”

The former world champ, who is originally from Durban and was a water polo player at a young age, is a 2x South African Bodyboard Champion in the u15 Division and also 2012 Open Division Champ. Iain started competed at the age of 12, but has been following the world tour since 2013 with several important wins on the way, such as the 2020 Pipe Challenge, 2018 Itacoatiara Pro, 2017 Sintra Pro, 2016 & 2017 Viana World Championship, and 2016 Arica Challenge, amongst other epic results.

Mr. Campbell, who is now exploring the waves and spots around Cornwall, keeps true to the youth dreams – when he wanted to travel more, explore more and experience different cultures. As he once told us, all of this was always one of his life goals. xxx
