The developers who gave Brazil their first inland surfing destination and tropical beach, Praia da Grama, are now developing a world first Wavegarden project in São Paulo in collaboration with BTG Pactual Asset Management, one of Latin America’s largest asset managers, named Beyond The Club.
With more than 100,000 m2 of constructible area, the Wavegarden Cove surfing lagoon will be the central feature, along with a sandy beach and vast array of innovative infrastructure for sports, recreation, social and cultural activities. The concept is unprecedented in the real estate market and the developers are aiming for a global roll out, starting with São Paulo in 2025, followed by Miami, Dubai and other locations around the world.
“Following the success of our first Wavegarden development 45 mins from São Paulo, we decided to create a city-based project themed around surfing, sports, lifestyle, gastronomy and community. As the name suggests, it will be something above and beyond anything that currently exists anywhere in the world,” explained Oscar Segall, KSM Realty´s CEO and partner.
Details of Beyond the Club were made public in Brazil in November, 2022. The plans revealed that the complex would install the world’s largest and most powerful surf park, a Wavegarden Cove with 62 modules, spanning 27,000 m2.
This technology, which is operating successfully at 7 facilities’ worldwide, is capable of accommodating up to 90 surfers per hour, making up to 20 different types of waves that cater for all surfer profiles. News of Beyond The Club was well received by the surf-crazed Brazilians, with the first round of memberships selling out in a matter of days.
Construction for the São Paulo project is scheduled to begin in March 2023 and will be delivered in the first half of 2025. Many projects are presently in the pre-construction and construction phase, such as Garopaba, (South Brazil), Sydney (Australia), Coachella and Virginia Beach (USA), Telaviv (Israel) and Edinburgh (Scotland). xxx
