The Pride Bodyboards crew is about to release a new YouTube edit called “MATUR NUWUN“. Time to know a little more about this amazing video work that combines travel & bodyboarding.
MATUR NUWUN is a short film directed by Pablo Mayer that features Steph Kokorelis deep in the Javanese jungle. It is soooo juicy and at the same time real spicy.
The whole clip was filmed in Watu Karung, Java, and shows the Portuguese shredder bodyboarding his favorite wave in Indonesia, after landing the cover of Vert Magazine’s new book “Portugal Rocks” a few months ago.
In the edit, Steph takes advantage of an early season swell to reconnect with a place that feels like home.
From the dense green of the jungle to the perfection of this patch of reef, he returns to the place and chases the first pulse of swell of the season with a big smile plastered on his face.
As always, the level of bodyboarding presented is stylish and super flow. Somehow already a kind of trademark from the big cat.
In case you´ve been wondering, Matur Nuwun means thank you in Javanese. So, according to Pride Bodyboards, this is a tribute to the incredible waves, the unforgettable moments, and above all, the kindness of the local community.
The people of Watu Karung really know how to give a warm welcome to all their visitors and bodyboarders who are looking for epic moments and unforgetabble waves.
Please mark it on your agenda: Matur Nuwun premieres next Thursday at 5:00PM European time! You may watch it on Vert’s website, or on the Pride Bodyboards YouTube channel.
Stay tuned for more!
And let’s follow Steph into the heart of Java!
