Yazdany Rangel and Cláudia Castello shared victories in the bodyboarding divisions of the ALAS Pro Tour.
The ALAS Pro Tour Guatemala presented by Hotel Maya Jade closed on Sunday, November 5th, with the awards ceremony for those who competed in the waves of El Rosario beach, in the Guatemalan Pacific. Real fun waves of 1 meter were enough to speed up the champions of another stop from the well-known Central and South American tour.
Veteran Brazilian bodyboarder Cláudia Castello come on top in the Women’s division, adding a total of 13.00 points in the final heat. Second was Dulce Agüero and third was Yuliana Campos, both from Costa Rica, and fourth was Kenia López representing the Guatemala colors.
Men’s Bodyboard was defeated by Yazdany Castro of Costa Rica, with a total score of 15.83 points out of a possible max of 20. In second came Edwin Nuñez from Panama, with 13,17 points; third was Angel Villamar Peralta from Ecuador, with 10.23 points; and coming in fourth was Jose Manuel Orozco from Guatemala with 9.03 points.
The event was the fifth stop of the ALAS Pro Tour in the 2022-2023 season, after having previous events in Peru, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. Now there are only two dates left to end the year: Las Flores, El Salvador, between November 9th and 12th; and Peru between December 1st and 3rd.
