Six Moroccan shredders (Badr Eddine Chajri, Ali Bendaghou, Oussama Aboudfer, Mouad Kamal, Adnane Benslimane, Amine Soussi) and three French (Fred Compagnon, Maxime Castillo, Pierre-Louis Costes) gladiators competed against each other in order to find the champion of this special event (invitation only).
In the final, which curiously was held at night, PLC beat their opponents with a total score of 16 points (out of 20). Local boy Badr Eddine Chajri placed second with 14,20 pts, leaving his fellow countryman Adnane Benslimane in fourth with 9,70 pts. Another Frenchman, Maxime Castillo hold the medal for third with a score of 11,75 pts.
“One of my dreams was to win an international event in Morocco, the place I started bodyboarding and yesterday that dream came true, I am still a bit in disbelief as everything went so fast, competing at a world class point break like Safi was something I always wished and thanks to a 10 years project from the organizers, this crazy dream became reality. The first edition of the Safi Invitational was definitely a success and the finals being run at night was an experience we will never forget. Congratulations to everyone involved and all the competitors, history was made in Morocco and I am really honored to be part of it”, said Pierre.
Until next year!
