Isabela Sousa, Sari Ohhara, Neymara Carvalho and Alexandra Rinder are in contention for the 2022 world title.
With all four main contenders for the 2022 title present at the current Walker Bay Pro, there are a few ways the event needs to play out in order for either Isabela Sousa, Sari Ohhara, Neymara Carvalho or Alexandra Rinder to take the very first Women’s IBC Bodyboarding World Tour Champion title. And winning the event isn’t the only way for it to happen.
Requirement for Alexandra Rinder (Canary Islands):
• Has to win the event – Isabela and Sari CANNOT make the final.
• Only needs to make final if the 3 other candidates lost in the quarter-finals
• Must beat Neymara in the final
• Has to win the event if Isabela and Sari make the semi-final
Requirement for Sari Ohhara (Japan):
• Has to win the event if either Isabela or Neymara make the final
• If finish 3rd, Alexandra cannot win and Neymara cannot make final
• If finish 5th, Alexandra cannot make final and Neymara cannot make the semi-finals
Requirement for Isabela Sousa (Brazil):
• Has to win the event if either Sari or Neymara make the final
• If finish 3rd, Alexandra cannot win and Neymara cannot make final
• If finish 5th, Alexandra cannot make final and Neymara cannot go to into the semi-finals
Requirement for Neymara Carvalho (Brazil):
• Has to win the event against any of the 3 other riders in the final
• Only needs to finish 3rd or higher if 3 other riders go out in quarter-finals
Considering the draw and statistics, the World Champion will most likely be decided in the semi-final and finals, on the final day of Walker Bay Pro – but lots of things can happen leading upto the quarters.
