Making sure that the History of the sport is made by everyone, meaning known and unknown riders.

So it is boys and girls. It’s a little bit nostalgic, we know, but we just put The Unforgettable Fire (1985) track from U2 playing in order to write the next few lines. Hope you dig the story of the session held in November 25th, São Miguel island, Azores.

Words by Felipe Dorigão (the rider):

“The Azores surf tour was taking place that day, the sea was building synched with the rising tide. So we decided to go out and catch one of those beautiful waves breaking outside. It was only when I arrived the outside area I had a better idea of the size of the waves – easily 3 meters in the sets. After catching a few waves paddling, Marco Medeiros, a jet ski rescue pilot who also works in Nazaré and is a part of Sebastian Steudtner’s team, show up in the line up. He asked me if I wanted to do step-offs on some waves, and to my delight that’s where it all happened. I jumped and tried to have maximum speed to cross the vertical and fast water wall. This was one of the best barrels of my life, a big tea room with several hollow sessions. People at the beach cheered when I was leaving the barrel. After a few waves I’ve decided to leave the sea. Unfortunately for me, no one was there to capture the moment, until I received a message that night from Carlos Duarte who was on the other side of the beach taking pictures. And like a divine gift I received the photos of one of the waves of my life.”
